Why choose (RCC) Holistic Counselling?
We are all individuals and therefore respond or react differently to life and stressful situations. For example, a friend could be experiencing frustration and anger while you are experiencing confusion. Yet another person may be experiencing depression or loss of job. How do we deal with this? How can we see things more clearly?
I personally used holistic counselling to overcome anxiety and depression. Many of my clients use it for physical pain or trauma. Other clients use it to manage stress in their personal or professional lives whilst others use it to gain better health and wellbeing, a sense of belonging and self-worth.
The main benefit you achieve from holistic counselling is to be able to get to the root cause of your symptoms or ailments without added medication.
Holistic counselling also creates the awareness of specific life skills that can help you experience a more balanced holistic way of living.
What is (RCC) Holistic Counselling?
Holistic counselling is one of the unique forms of counselling available today. It focuses on the person as a whole, mind (psychological), body (physiological) and soul (universal) to go deeper and uncover underlying root causes of symptoms, enhance personal growth, healing, self-discovery and self control.
'Holos' means 'whole' or entire in Greek.
Although Holistic counselling uses a variety of theoretical teachings and eastern and western modalities, it also assists clients to access their own inner wisdom to help find awareness and healing within themselves.
If necessary, it will incorporate other modalities to help meet the clients' individual needs, such as meditation, visualisation and a closer look at how we use our mind both consciously and unconsciously.
Does online Therapy/Counselling really work?
A 2018 study published in the journal of Psychological Disorders found that online cognitive behavioural therapy is "effective, acceptable, and practical health care." In addition, the study also found that was equally effective as a face-to-face treatment for major depression, panic disorder, social anxiety disorder, and generalized anxiety disorder.
My own personal experience with clients over the last five years of online Holistic Counselling and coaching has been equally as good as face to face.
Do I need to prepare before a session?
There is no need to prepare for your first session. However, I encourage you to take some time to get clear on what you would like to discuss in the session and why. If more sessions are needed, you will be asked to do some work on yourself before the next session. I also encourage clients to bring a pen and paper if there are some notes they may like to take during the session. I can also record any session on client requests for future reference.
Will our sessions be private?
Yes, all sessions will be private, whether they are face to face or online. Also, sessions are one-on-one and can be held online, by phone, or in person. Furthermore, all sessions are conducted with respect, care, and confidentiality.
Is there a cancellation fee?
I understand that things do come up and I appreciate that you prioritise your scheduled appointment. However, if you need to cancel or reschedule, please give at least 24 hours notice or 50% of the 1-hour session will be charged.
